See Return to the Dojo by our Governing Body the British Aikido Board as approved by DCMS.

This is mandatory guidance & rules supported by Supplementary Appendices.

There are five phases each subject to their own rules such as class size restricted and pods / bubbles featuring. along with minimising risk steps to be undertaken.

Coupled with a régime of risk assessment, record keeping, safety checks and education to ensure we do our best to keep all safe. Guidance to members are set out in its Appendix 2

From 12th April 2021 - Step 2 permits

Indoors - Phase 2 for children; and Phase 1 for adults qualified by distancing must be maintained so no contact or weapons to weapons work - effectively being Phase 0 like. (Solo work).

Outdoors - Phase 2 for children; and Phase 1 for adults

Step 3 there is no advice yet.

Group exercise classes are not yet permitted in Gyms, Leisure Centres, Halls etc 17th May at the earliest.

Our Clubs


Our Clubs will re-opening at differing speeds according to their local circumstances.


Some clubs might not be able to offer classes initially for beginners to start.


Club Covid-19 Officer:


All Clubs will appoint their own COVID-19 Officer to ensure the Guidance is followed before opening for training.
