Our Instructors

Welcome our permissions page for Lancashire Aikikai Instructors who are authorised to take classes without supervision.

The Aikikai believes all such Instructors should:

  • hold a Governing Body coaching award,
  • be a Dan Grade in Aikido,
  • be First Aid qualified,
  • hold appropriate insurance,
  • be DBS checked in accordance with Child Protection policy where they take classes involving under 18s and
  • be authorised to take classes by our Head of Association - also validating all the elements listed above are current.

Those given Permission to Teach classes unsupervised in the Lancashire Aikikai are listed on this webpage.

The BAB website lists our members who hold their coaching award.

Renew by December 2021 - dates extended

Because of Covid renewal of Instructors' Permission to teach has been hampered.

On 13th January 2021 our Principal, Mr Spence confirmed that any Instructors who's 'Permission to Teach' expired in 2020 or is due to expire during the coming months of 2021, will have their permissions extended until the end of the year, to enable First Aid to be updated.

This, of course, is provided there are no DBS concerns for those teaching under 18s and that they hold a in date blue slip re insurance.

Instructors should reapply before the end of December 2021.
